This is a very good series. It is one of the only series that held my attention long enough to finish it.
Continuation of THE MALLOREON---THE BEGINNING OF THE QUEST
The infant son of Garion and CeNedra had been kidnapped. Now they began the quest to rescue the child, with the immortal Belgarath the Sorcerer, his daughter Polgara the Sorceress, and the little Drasnian, Silk.
Why was the child kidnapped? To serve as a sacrifice in a Dark Rite so that evil would triumph over good and hold sway forever after.
As the words of the Prophecy lead the Rivan King Garion and his companions across the lands of the Snake-Queen and the once hostile Murgos, the malignant Zandramaskidnapper of Garion's sonpursues another Prophecy which, if fulfilled, will lead to the triumph of Darkness. Eddings continues to provide solid fantasy entertainment featuring engaging characters and warm, wry humor in this sequel to Guardians of the West.
It is a bit like the first series, but I kept reading it. I enjoyed it and hope to find the rest.
Continuing on of the Mallorean books....a very good fantasy.
