A Diet to Die For (Claire Malloy, Bk 5) Author:Joan Hess
Book Description:
When Claire Malloy accompanies Maribeth, an overweight, depressed heiress, to a weight-loss spa, you know she is a good friend. But the arduous regime seems to be rattling Maribeth's brain even as it takes off pounds. And Claire thinks the change isn't simply the combination of aerobics and a rotten home life. It appears that Maribeth isn't quite her own worst enemy--someone else has that deadly distinction. But can Claire survive a forty-minute workout to learn the truth?

This is a Claire Malloy mystery. Claire's daughter, Caron, and her sidekick, Inez, decide (like every teenage girl) that they're fat. What they need is a diet and exercise program -- preferably at the new gym in town. Unfortunately, all is not healthy at the gym and Claire ends up, yet again, investigating a murder. It's full of the trademark Hess wit and idiosyncratic characters. Moms of daughters will especially appreciate this series, with Caron's constantly changing passionate enthusiasms and Capital Letter Conversation.

Witty, well-plotted "cozy" mystery from the Claire Malloy series
