After you start getting to know all the zany characters in this book, you'll wish you really did know them. Quirky, crazy southern belles gone bad. You will chuckle as you read this book, I promise :)

This is the first Elizabeth MacPherson mystery I have read by Sharyn McCrumb. It was light and fun reading.
I hope she has written another one.

Eight women, the daughters of Confederate veterans, had ask Bill, a novice lawyer, to sell their antebellum mansion. But the real estate deal is the cover for a calculated decepton. A funny Southern mystery.
From back cover
Down South the Civil War isn't something you learn about in school. It's a chilling presence that hasn't quite passed into history. Forensic anthropologist Elizabeth MacPherson feels its pull when she ventures to Danville, VA to save her brother Bill -- a novice lawyer -- from a charge that could send him to prison.
This is the 7th in McCrumb's Elizabeth MacPherson series-and so far, it is my favorite. I just love Sharon McCrumb's books, and particularly this character! There is so much wit and life in McCrumb's books. She reminds me of a funnier Eudora Welty.

Another good one in the growing series written by Sharyn McCrumb. Take a forensic anthropologist, add a newly licensed attorney and throw in eight daughters of Confederate veterans - all this adds up to an interesting, entertaining mystery with twists and turns!
IF YOU LIKE OLD FASHIONED MYSTERIES WITH A TOUCH OF FUN AND HISTORY THEN THIS IS FOR YOU
