This book was really well written and it was fun to learn more about the Masterharper character that runs thru all the other books in the series

I have to say I cried at the end of this book. I began this series in junior high and the end of this book really hit me hard. Robinton is like a big brother, doting grandpa, first crush and great teacher all rolled into one person. I was overjoyed at seeing his whole story, but crushed when it came to an end.
McCaffrey does her usual wonderful story weaving - giving you insight and touching you with the character. She ties it in beautifully to prior works, but it can stand on it's own (another thing I LOVE about her books!)
This is a great book.

I'm a huge fan of McCaffrey's Pern series, and Robinton remains a fave character. So I'm prejudiced. But with this one, she fleshes out the whole Pern saga with the fuller Robinton story.

A wonderful part of the Pern series, this tells of Master Robinton growing up. A must read!

Top notch 'prequel' to McCaffrey's Harper Hall trilogy.
