Not really my philosophy, but may be helpful to someone else! I will say that the E.A.S.Y. plan did work for us for a little while. The author has valid points to some extent, but some seem a little off, in my opinion.
This book had great baby parenting advice. The section on sleep and setting up a routine for babies was a total lifesaver.
Awful awful awful, horrible and potentially dangerous child care advice. Almost as bad as babywise, but at least with a hint of respect for the baby.

Tracy's theme of listening, respecting, and talking with your baby from day one is advice we will carry with us always. GREG GERMANN (star of Ally McBeal)
Some good suggestions, just not my style

Easy..how to get baby to eat, play, and sleep on a schedule that will make every member of the household's life easier and happier. Slow... how to interpret what your baby is trying to tell you ( so you don't try to feed him when he really wants a nap) How to identify which type of baby yours is-- angel, textbook, touchy, spirited, or Grumpy--and then learn the best way to interact with that type.

Good practical advice for new parents trying to get a baby on that magical "schedule". Like all other baby books, the techniques may or may not work with your baby (they did for us), but worth a try!
From the dust jacket, "Reassuring, down-to-earth, and often flying in the face of conventional wisdom, Secrets of the Baby Whisperer promises parents not only a healthier, happier baby but a more relaxed and happy household as well."
