I enjoyed this book, it was the only one I hadn't yet read in the series. Julie Garwood is great at telling a story. She's one of my favorite authors.
I wasn't familiar with Julie Garwood, and guess the title and brief reviews mislead me, because this book wasn't what I expected. It turned out to be essentially a romance with a few thriller/mystery elements tacked on. But the book's wooden characters, stilted dialogue and predictable plot didn't work for me. I found myself skimming through large chunks of text to get to salient story points.

This book was okay. I devoured Mercy and Killjoy, this one simply did not have the UMPH that the other two had. I had to read it, because a Buchanan was in it, I did like it, it just lacked a little magic. Don't buy it, get it from the library. If you like the family, it's worth the read. I am going on to Slow Burn, which I hope the magic returns.
How would you feel if you could get rid of everyone that gave you a hard time. That is what this lady found out in this book, when she lost her murder list and a killer found it. The people on her listed started showing up dead. This is a GREAT book!!!
hotel heiress Regan Hamilton Madison is flirting with danger. She agrees to help a journalist friend expose Dr. Lawrence Shields, a shady self-help guru who may have been responsible for the death of one of his vulnerable devotees. Hoping to find some damning evidence, regan attends a Shields seminar, where the doctor has his quest make a list of the people who have hurt or angered them over the years and asks; Would your world be a better place if these people ceased to exist? Treating the exercise as a game, Regan plays along. The experience is all but forgotten--until the first person on Regans list turns of dead. Shock turns to horror when another namr from her list surfaces as a corpse. While brutal murders seem to stalk Regan's every move, her attraction to the detective assigned to protect her grows. As the menace intensifies and a serial killer circles, Regan must discover who has turned her private revenge fantasies into grisly reality.

Good thriller.
A compelling mystery. This novel keeps you reading and has some steamy love scenes.

This book is part of the Buchanan sibling series. All have been very good books. The Buchanan books are: "Heartbreaker" (Nick), "Mercy" (Theo), "Murder List" (Alec), "Slow Burn" (Dylan), & "Shadow Dance" (Jordan). There is also an intersecting character story involving the brother of Michelle from Theo's story. "Killjoy" comes after "Mercy".
I have always loved Jule Garwood's books and wasn't sure I would like the "new" books she started to write. I was wrong her FBI books are excellent. They have it all, mystery, laughter, low key romance, and excellent characters that keep reappearing in other books.
