Book Description:
With her energies focused on a baffling, vicious gang slaying and her personal life in shambles, Hollywood homicide detective Petra Connor has a full plate. The last thing she needs is a whiz-kid grad student claiming to have stumbled upon a bizarre connection between several unsolved murders. The victims had nothing in common, yet each died by the same method, on the same date -- a date that's rapidly approaching again. And that leaves Petra with little time to unravel the twisted logic of a cunning predator who's evaded detection for years -- and whose terrible hour in once more at hand.

Jonathan Kellerman writes novels that keep you turning the pages and this one is no exception. Homicide detective Petra Connor is made aware of similarities in several cold-cases that make her believe the killer is going to attempt another murder on the anniversary date of his previous murders. With the help of her young doctoral canidate intern, she sets out to solve these old murders and, hopefully, prevent the next one. One of those 2:30 in the morning and still reading books......

Star of this novel is a homicise detective out of Hollywood. She must solve a series of old crimes and prevent the next murder from happening.
I like this style of novel but the lanquage is too colorful for me.

Kellerman's work is a bit dark, interesting, and his style is one of the best. That's what makes him a top selling writer year after year.

Kellerman always writes interesting books and this is exactly that. the plot moves quickly and the characters are far more interesting than is usual for this type of book. i highly recommend it.

Unsatisfying ending. Read no further if you don't want any hint of the ending. --- The person revealed at the end was not a regular character in the book. Truly a surprise ending. Surprising but not satisfying.
