Book Description:
Bestseller Kellerman serves up all the elements his fans have come to love in the 22nd entry in his Alex Delaware series, including an intriguing plot, likable regular characters supported by an interesting secondary cast, diabolical villains, witty dialogue and a sense of humanity and justice.

Alex and his LAPD detective partner, Milo Sturgis, are investigating several murders that, at first, appear to have only one thing in common: the perpetrator's use of expensive black automobiles while committing his crimes. Kellerman sticks to his usual modus, the patient and sometimes painfully slow accumulation of detail, as Alex and Milo build their case. A subplot involves a missing child last seen selling magazine subscriptions in a tony neighborhood 16 years earlier. On the domestic front, Alex is again living with his girlfriend, Robin, with whom he has broken up several times over the course of the series. In the end, a nice twist reminds Robin and Alex to be more careful in the future about drawing assumptions in their private life before all the facts have come to light.

Normally I love this series, but somehow I found this was lacking. The premise was interesting, however, the leaps in logic being made just made it absolutely impossible to understand how anyone could follow such a convoluted path. All that being said, if you're a fan of this series you probably should read it just to keep up with the character development. If you've never read this series, don't start with this one.

An Alex Delaware mystery that maybe lacks the surprises of others. Still a good read.

This book lays a a complete background in the first half then hooks the reader as the mystery is pursued by the lead characters. It builds and builds so that the reader can not put it aside as the mystery is unraveled. Technically sound writing. Very interesting characters. Witty dialogue. A thorough pleasure to read.

This book was quick reading but certainly not as good as previous books. It seemed like he just didnt put much effort into this one and did not develope the characters very well.

This book was a good mystery. It was my first Alex Delaware and at first I found it hard to follow, but it ended pretty good and exciting.

Save yourself some time. Read the above description then read something else instead. I hate to say it because I've thought of Alex and Milo as my own personal friends, but it's high time they die off. Nothing new or exciting here folks :(
