This is the second in the MacLeods of Skye trilogy, and it is about Alex, Rory's brother. Alex has gone "undercover" so to speak as an outlaw. He and his men ride across an attempted kidnapping and robbery of two women. The two women happen to be women he knows, but he can't let them recognize him. So Alex rides off rather quickly, but not before he leaves an impression.
Meeting Meg at court is also accidental, but she can't stop thinking about him, and he can't keep his hands off her. It's a great romance, and Monica McCarty is a great writer.
My Rating: A+
Very rarely do I actually find myself falling for the hero. In this book, I not only feel for him, I fell head over heals for him.
The writing in this book sucks you in, their ups and downs bring you up and down easily. When something bad happened, I couldn't put the book down until something good happened!
Miss McCarty has in two books shot to the top of my favorite authors list. The mix of romance and history are wonderful and equal in a way that you don't quite realize that you're learning something.
I highly recommend this novel to those who love historical romances, and also to those who think they may enjoy historical romances, but have never tried.

Not bad, another story of familial duty over love.
