Angela and Rafe - and "Peanut" - Rafe's "unexpected" son - are three welcome additions to the interwoven characters and story lines that comprise Rachel Lee's 'Conard County' series for Silhouette Intimate Moments. Not surprsisingly, Rafe is in law enforcement - or at least, he was - until his undercover work for the DEA yielded the extremely unexpected child he didn't know existed. He goes to Conard County to find the half brother he's never met, hoping to persuade him to take on the burden of "Peanut." But when Rafe arrives at his destination, he meets Angela, also a refugee from her past life - and a person who impresses him with the way she copes with the trials and inconveniences of insulin-dependent diabetes. Both Rafe and Angela had expected to live out their lives alone, neither having found love in the past. But then - neither had been exposed to the magic of Conard County - or each other. Lee keeps readers guessing, as Angela and Rafe try to overcome past regrets, and as Rafe fights to keep custody of his son.
