Laurie S. (I've read this author's Devil's Waltz and really enjoyed its anti-hero and was expecting some good things from this little book. Instead I found it unexceptional and couldn't get past the first 1/4 before I started skimming huge sections. The premise of a hunky scientist who accidentally acquires super hero-like powers was wasted on a guy who was too disagreeable to hold my attention and saddled with a nosey reporter of a heroine who did nothing but get on my nerves. I probably should have read this back when I bought it in the 1990's. Now I'm too picky, too jaded and far too impatient for books that don't grab me in the early pages. Ahh, the perils of the tbr pile.
