Two books in one:

Rules of the Game

Orphaned and poor, Brooke Gordon had spent years developing a strong character and independence, and no smooth-talking ladies' man -- no matter how irresistible -- was going to make her swoon. So why were Brooke's knees wobbling every time gorgeous Parks Jones came near?

The Name of the Game

Johanna Patterson had worked long and hard to make a name for herself in a man's world -- and to forget the memories of an unhappy childhood. Now she was a successful game show producer on her way up, dependent on no one. Then she met actor Sam Weaver. She had never liked persistent men. She certainly didn't like men with a reputation. But Sam had a way of slipping past her defenses. He knew that Johanna's tough, self-sufficient exterior hid a fragile, passionate woman. He'd caught glimpses of her, and he was determined to see more. He wanted to win this game -- and the name of the game was love.

Straight romance from early in Nora Roberts' career (1984 & 1988)... two stories with handsome, virile heroes and sweet and sassy heroines. In both of them our plucky heroines are not eager to commit, but those determined men win out in the end.

You really can't fail with a Nora Roberts book and this one has two stories in it. You can tell that they are older books though because of the setting and etc but well worth the read. Supposedly it's the first time they've been released in about 10 years. Rules of the Game involves a jock and a straightlaced advertising exec; Name of the Game involves a down to earth actor (do those really exist?) and an up and coming producer trying to get beyond her show biz family's strings.

This is a 'two-in-one' book: Rules of the Game and The Name of the Game. Nora Robert's classic romance :-)

This is 2 of Nora Roberts stories in one book.
The first story centers around a baseball player and a director of a commercial. The second story centers around a game show producer and a movie star. Both of these stories were entertaining.

Rules of the Game:
She had vowed never to mix business with pleasure. But one look into the mesmerizing eyes of Parks Jones was all it took for Brooke Gordon. He was utterly desirable and completely off-limits-so Parks was going to have to break a few rules to convince her that love wasn't just a game to him, it meant forever...

The Name of the Game:
Johanna didn't give her trust easily, especially not to a man who lived in the public eye. So why was Sam appearing nightly in her dreams? The man had a way of slipping past all her defenses, of coaxing her into his arms. He desparately wanted to win this game - when the name of the game was love.
