Book Description:
When the other woman is you...

She's not quite sure how it happened, but Lizzie Ford is London's most popular Agony Aunt ... doling out practical, down-to-earth advice to women about everything from g-spots and oral sex to relationships and personal crises. So she finds it somewhat ironic that an honest-to-goodness D-celebrity like herself -she has a radio show and a magazine column- who counsels others on their sex lives has been sitting on the bench for three years waiting to get back in the game.

So Lizzie can't believe her good luck when she meets Matt Baker at her office Christmas party. They hit it off immediately, only there's one problem ... Matt's wife may not be happy with this new arrangement. Lizzie is certainly less than enthused when Matt finally informs her of his marital state - "You've got a wife and I've got principles," she tells him.

But principles don't take you out to dinner or keep you warm in bed at night, and Lizzie soon takes up with Matt again when he tells her that he's about to leave his wife - who is more concerned with her career than their marriage. The strange thing is that even while she's hoping that Matt will get a divorce, she's actively helping a writer to her column save her crumbling marriage ... a marriage that bears more than a passing resemblance to Matt's. Can you be a home saver and a home wrecker -saint and sinner- at the same time?

This one is tough to review without really getting into the story. I will try to review it as best I can without really spoiling too much of the plot. However, if you don't want to know much about the plot, you might want to skip this review just in case! Anyway, Lizzy Ford is a new breed of hot agony aunt that has finally met a man she could fall for only to discover that he isn't available until too late. Matt can't seem to tell Lizzy the truth about his marital status. Rachel, Matt's wife, is ambitious and neglecting her husband and she knows it. She writes to a hot new agony aunt for advice on her situation and ends up developing a bit of a friendship with Lizzy in the process. The problem is easy to see and for me, so was the solution. Therefore, the last few chapters of the story annoyed me a bit, since it seems all the characters were oblivious to the solution. I still found the story enjoyable overall. Just know that if you can see the solution early that the last few chapters will drag a bit because of that. :)

"Lizzie Ford is an urban sexpot, and her hip London magazine column and radio show are bombarded with romantic casualties on a daily basis. What a relief that, after years in the dating jungle, Lizzie herself has finally landed in the arms of Matt Baker--an advertising genius with enough charm to win over even Lizzie's man-cynical best friend. Little does Lizzie know there's more to Matt Baker than witty one-liners and bedroom eyes..."

I really enjoyed this book which suprised me because chick lit isn't one of my favortie things to read. It was a very fast read for me and I also kept the authors name and will try another book from her in the future. Definitely a talented writer.

While I love British chick lit, I found it hard to relate to this book.
