Book Description:
Love. Betrayal.
Forgiveness. Redemption.
And Fabric Softener.

Lucy Madison's life is spinning out of control. After her grandfather crashes his motorcycle for the last time, this frustrated artist is left picking up the pieces (not to mention holding the ashes). But fulfilling his dying wish of befriending his pregnant girlfriend turns out to be even less than she expected. Add to that the return of her, uh, unstable brother, the tyranny of her nasty roommate and the fact that boyfriend number. . . whatever, has turned out to be Mr. Not in This Lifetime, and Lucy knows it's time to switch cycles.

Good thing Grandpa left her his launderette. It's the perfect place to sort through her mess, focus on her art and start fresh. Isn't it?

This quirky seriocomedy of life's foibles has it all. Visit Lucy's Launderette and you may never want to leave!

Turned out to be a good book about an artist whose grandfather dies, leaving her to sort out her family, and a business. Was much better than I expected, read it three times!

Loved the storyline and the numerous characters. There is lots going on, but easy to keep straight. A "feel good" book about friends and family . .. with a few rotten apples and problems to keep it balanced.

This was a wonderful, quirky book. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Lucy may not have been relatable, but she seemed to be a very real character with real problems. Her difficulties had me chuckling at times and feeling frustrated for her at other times. She is surrounded by eclectic and amusing friends and family. All in all a wonderful book that I would recommend to everyone.

Love, betrayal, forgiveness, redemption and fabric softener. Lucy Madison's life is spinning out of control. After her grandfather crashes his motorcyle for the last time, this frustrated artist is left picking up the pieces (not to mention holding the ashes). But fulfilling his dying wish of befriending his pregnant young girlfriend turns out to be even less fun than she expected. Add to that the return of her, uh, unstable brother, the tyranny of her nasty roommate, and the fact that boyfriend number...whatever, has turned out to be Mr. Not in This Lifetime, and Lucy knows it's time to switch cycles.

Reasonably good read, though the back cover is deceptive.

I thought it was a hard book to put down! If you like Marian Keyes or Sophie Kinsella, you will like this!
