Book Description:
Scarred in body and soul, rancher Noah didn't consider himself fit company for anyone. But when his brother's philandering finally caught up with him, honor dictated that Noah claim his brother's widow as his own.

Standing on her doorstep, with his collar turned up and a rifle by his side, Noah was about the most intimidating man Katherine had ever seen. And though one man's false promises had already dashed her dreams, she instinctively trusted this stranger. Even more, Kate suspected she'd only be a fool this time if she didn't take a chance on Noah for the sake of herself and her unborn child!

This story is an American historical book during 1890 in Colorado. The hero is a scarred man who marries his brothers widow to give her unborn child a father. At 296 pages it's a quick read. I'd give it a 3 on a scale of 5.

Great book! Noah is injured from during a farm accident while a teen and pretty much becomes a recluse. His handsome younger brother can do no wrong in his Mom's eye (while Noah is a monster) but his younger brother is a liar, cheat, and womanizer. He marries a girl because she won't go to bed with him without a ring and then leaves her pregnant and broke. When Noah hears his brother is killed he finds his widow and arranges to take care of her. Neither Noah or Katherine believe they are worth much but they each learn to help the other.

This was so touching! A well-done Beauty and the Beast theme. Loved it!

Touching story of two people who just want to belong to someone and be part of a family. As the heroine stated "I just want to be important to someone."

I love historical romance, and this is by a favorite author of mine. I love St. John's historicals even more than her contemporary ones. This is a great story, and as usual she tears out your heart and then gives it back to you many times over. Please enjoy.
