Tate Winthrop is intent upon keeping his bloodline pure, and will not marry anyone outside his native tribe, even though he comes to love the woman he helped as a young girl, until he discovers that his bloodline is not as pure as he believed....

A shady land deal on a Lakota reservation links a senator, the mob, and Tate Winthrop's mother. As Tate digs for the truth behind the lies, he's forced to reexamine his own heritage and struggle with his love for Cecily Blake, the woman determined to make his life hell.

Cecily Peterson was living with an abusive stepfather after her mother passed away, and who knows what would have happened if Tate Winthrop hadnt come to her rescue. Helping her to get out of town, to college and on the road to her dreams, this would have been enough to make her fall in love with himif she hadnt already.
Against his better judgment, Tate has feelings for Cecily as well, but feels that he must marry within his tribe to keep pure Native American bloodlines alive. Cecily might fit in with his tribe and family, but that doesnt make her any less the white woman who he cant have.
