Darcie Reed is tired of literally running from her bosses. She did not break her engagement to prove herself in a business environment in Pittsburgh only to wind up being chased around a desk by a randy CEO. She is about to quit when she learns that her only relative, Uncle Horry, has died and left her with a terrible surprise: she must spend a month on his estate, Shangri-La, outside of Philadelphia with her ex-fiance, Cameron Pierce, and her uncle's psychotic housekeeper, Lily, taking care of his cat, Lucky, or an unknown half brother will be Horry's heir.

Then the mysterious half brother, Edwin, shows up. Michaels provides her readers with a lighthearted romance that will leave the reader smiling.

Great fun. Wacky in a nice way. I loved the "talking" cat (actually telepathic). And an offbeat (to say the least) cast of characters.

Very quick, funny read by veteran romance writer, Kasey Michaels. Kasey's writing style varies, and I'd call this one a lighthearted romantic beach read. Grab it now & sit back and laugh!

a woman stuck with her ex in Shangir-La,to inherit money...for thirty days...
a very fun read. I didn't figure out the twists and turns of this book til the very end.
Not a bad read - I really prefer chick lit, but for a contemporary romance, this wasn't awful. No "throbbing manhood" (that I recall) or anything too terrible like that. :)
A good read. Kasey Michaels is always enjoyable to read. In this book the main character has to live in her uncle's house for thirty days to get her share of the estate. The catch -- she has to spend it with her ex-finace. Very good character dynamics and plot twists.
This book has a lot of funny parts in it. You will love the cat!
