Political intrigue (& a history lesson) in the courts of Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth. Lady Gwenyth Macleod & her love, Laird Rowan Graham, are caught in the machinations between the two great queens. Very well-written, with no explicity sex scenes so common in this genre of romance writers. But if you like politics or history, this book is for you.

Brenna B. (This was my first Harlequin romance book and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The story was very captivating, the historical aspects (which were well researched) were not just there "for show" but actually played an important role in the plot, and it was not all about sex the way many books in this genre are perceived to be about. I was very taken in by this story about the queen's lady-in-waiting and her love/hate relationship with Laird Rowan Graham as they both try to remain loyal to Queen Mary, Scotland, to each other, and to their own beliefs.
