Ugh!

Karrie Kline had heard it all. But her search for the perfect man had never been all that pressing until her laugh lines became more noticeable, she attended one too many bridal showers and woke up next to far too many never-gonna-commit men. Suddenly, she realized that finding someone to love (and who actually loved her back) was important. Karrie wanted more. But knowing what she wanted, and actually getting what she wanted... well, that was a lot to think about.

Through her wry, witty and sometimes wrenching recollections, join Karrie as she looks back at over fifteen years of dating vignettes involving disastrous fix-ups, strange chance encounters and missed opportunities. From the shortest date in Manhattan history, to Mr. Famous-Hollywood-Televison-Actor who was more bark than bite, these are tales for every woman -- whether she's found her Prince Charming, or her lips are incredibly chapped from kissing her own share of frogs.

This was Laurie Graff's 1st book. This book was lacking in so many ways. It didnt make you laugh, the stories werent that great, the sex was sexless(but she had sex alot). In the begining the main character thinks about killing herself. Maybe she was trying to be funny. Nothing was funny, nothing. It seemed like the book was sad, gloomy and hopeless. You dont really know why any guy would think she was so great, she was an on again off again unemployed actress. I guess in the end she learned to love herself, but I had to slog through so much to get there, and I am not even sure that is what really happened, because there are sequels to this book. The one good thing is that the chapters were short and in a good way as stated by another reviewer. Look! There are better things to read out there. Life is too short to waste your time reading this.

I didn't really like this book. I read the whole thing, yes, but it didn't intrest me. Maybe because it didn't have a very happy ending.

It was a very emotional book though, it made you feel for her, and it made you WANT her to have a Happily ever after.

I loved the title and looked forward to reading this for over a year before finally getting my hands on a copy, but sadly, the title was the best thing about the book.

Better and more thoughtful than most chick lit, this is a compilation of "stories from the dating pond."

Super-fun check lit!

Standard chicklit. I read it for a book club. I wasn't overly impressed, but I did finish it.

Loved it. This is one of the few times where "chic lit" didn't make me feel old. The reviewer who called it "hen lit" got it right. It was a wonderful story.

Not your typical RDI novel. More like hen lit than chick lit as the main character is 45 in the present day. This story is told in a series of vignettes and flashbacks. Pretty good, but not exactly what I was expecting.
