Book Description:
From Stuart Woods, New York Times best-selling author, comes a chilling mystery-ghost story. Situated on a peaceful lake in the Georgia mountains, Sutherland seems like a nice town. But buried deep within its lake's waters are hideous secrets, unspeakable horrors that can turn hair white and drive a person mad. A burnt-out reporter, a passionate young woman, a lawman guilty of crimes of his own, and a ruthless power broker are thrown together into a web of lies, obsessions, and dark deceit that draws them toward a chilling confrontation with the truth under the lake.

This is part mystery, part ghost story. What are the lights under the lake? Are the rumors of corruption, incest and cruelty long ago true? It's not just another story....it will stay with you.

A one-time ace reporter rents a cabin in a backwoods Georgia town, then stumbles upon and determines to solve the town mystery, which involves a seemingly affable sheriff, an autocratic town father and an incest-ridden family whose once-prosperous farm now lies under a lake. He joins forces with a plucky female reporter bent on proving that the sheriff is "dirty," and there's never a dull moment as the story surges toward its exciting climax.

A very compelling horror thriller about a burnt out reporter's investigation of the strange occurrences and secrets revolving around a small town Georgian lake.

What lies submerged under the lake at Sutherland, Ga? What secrets, sins and horrors? Those rumors of corruption, incest and hideous savagery long ago, can they be true? And the lights under the lkae, that strange little girl -- Are they warnings of terrible danger?

Are the lights under the lake...that strange little girl...that haunting music...are they hallucinations or warnings of danger...

This book was soooooooo good!!! A writer moves into a small cabin by a lake in order to work on his latest book. He soon finds himself seeing apparitions of a little girl in his cabin and a house out in the lake. Why are the townspeople, especially the sheriff and the town's founder so wary of him? Who is the little ghost girl? Not only does this book have the supernatural element, it also has murder, drug dealers, and dirty cops. A stellar book!

My first Stuart Woods book and I enjoyed the story very much. I loved all of his characters and the main one had a lot of experiences. A great start for me with Stuart Woods.
