The tough neighborhood of Dorchester is no place for the innocent or the weak. A territory defined by hard heads and even harder luck, its streets are littered with the detritus of broken families, hearts, dreams. Now, one of its youngest is missing. Private investigators Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro don't want the case. But after pleas from the child's aunt, they open an investigation that will ultimately risk everything -- their relationship, their sanity, and even their lives -- to find a little girl-lost.

This book kept in its grip from the beginning to the end. I had trouble making it through sometimes, because it is so graphic and children are involved. As a parent it made me think, more than I wanted to about the reality of child abduction. I would recommend this book, but know that it is very graphic in places and it will stay with you.

Probably one of the best in the Patrick Kenzie/Angels Gennaro Series, you really don’t know where this on is going until the end.

Kidnapping of a young child becomes very, very complicated. Lots of action, violence and intrigue.
