Book Description:
London, 1818
Heartsick and desperate to leave her sorrows on England's shores, innocent Georgina Anderson seeks passage on the "gentleman's ship," Maiden Anne, disguised as a cabin boy. The captain, however, is no gentleman; he's the ex-pirate and irrepressible rake, James Malory.

The black sheep of a proud, tempestuous family, Malory soon sees through Georgina's masquerade and is enchanted by the courageous, high-spirited lady he has forced into intimate servitude. But though he has sworn he will never be enticed into matrimony, Captain Malory has finally met his match on the high seas -- undone by the passionate heart of one remarkable beauty whose love of freedom and adventure rivals his own.

I couldn't put it down! GENTLE ROGUE is definitely one of the best romance novels that I've ever read! James and Georgie are endearing protagonists; I fell in love with them instantly! Their story is full of passion and humor; and the love scenes are very sensual and tastefully written. You won't get bored while reading this novel. It's fast-paced, contains a good plot, interesting characters, witty dialogue, and most importantly, excellent romance! There are plenty of wonderful and lighthearted moments, as well as some heart-wrenching scenes. I especially love the repartee between James and his George. They are hilarious! Although I've read a few other Lindsey novels, most don't compare to this one.

A little slow in the beginning but definitley got much better! Couldn't put it down! James is a jealous and loving man who doesn't believe in marriage. Georgina is a loving female who is determined not to show her feelings until James does. Only through the interference of families and brothers do they find each other.
Wonderful reading!

This book was wonderful! It started off a little slow, and I felt like a bit of a book snob not wanting to it. BUT, once I got past that and the ship set sailed, boy was I in for a ride! It was funny, adventurous, witty, and just a great, enjoyable read. We meet American Georgie on a mission to find the loser she's been betrothed to for the last six years. She wants to know what happened to him, taking the bull by the horns- she goes to find answers herself in England. In doing so, she meets the brick wall a.k.a. James Malory. What she doesn't know is that when she tries to return to America, the ship she signs up to be a cabin boy on, is his ship. But he knows! When James can't keep up the charade any longer and reveals that he knows she's a girl it's a spectacular moment to read. Although they didn't verbalize their feelings until the very end, you can just feel how each one feels about the other. What a fantastic story told on the high seas, and a happy, rewarding ending. Johanna Lindsey has definitely captured my attention for Warren's story.

Heartsick and desparate to leave her sorrows on England's shores, innocent Georgina Anderson seeks passage on the "gentlemen's ship", Maiden Anne, disguised as a cabin boy. The ca[tain, however, is no gentleman; he's the ex-pirate and irresponsible rake, James Mallory. Very good reading. A wonderful book.

A Mallory novel - a young woman seeking to return to America from England disguises herself as a lad and takes a job as a cabin boy. Unsuspecting Captain James Mallory finds himself with a manservant who is anything but!

The Malory novels are those types of books that stay with you and the characters become "old friends" This is my favorite one in the series - I have read and re-read this one many times over, and my 20 year old, at first skeptical has come to love them as well. James and George are lovable characters and appear in future Malory novels as well. I love the humor in their relationship. I would clasify this book as an "old school" romance novel - Privateer + girl disguised as cabin boy = lots of heat! But what I really love is that this is a good story with lots of humor - one that makes you need to read all the Malory books over and over again.

I love the Malory's- this is James's story. James swore he would Never get leg shackled by any woman- Never say never James. Loved it-great bantering and humor. Introduces the Anderson's as Georgina's 'not happy at all with James' big brother's.

Hear heart trampled and torn, Georgina Anderson was desparate to return home to America. Leaving her sorrows on England's shores, she defiantly boarded the "genntleman's ship" disguised as a cabin boy. Guess what happened. A handsome ex-pirate, the black sheep of his family, Malory swore no woman alive would entice him into matrimony. But on the high seas, how could it not happen. This book is great Joanna Lindsey.
