I REALLY liked this book and the characters. I thought it was a great love story. There are not many books that will bring a tear to my eye's but this one did. And, it wasn't from sadness.
This is a great read.
Book 2 of 3 in the series but you don't really have to read the others to get this one.

Not one of my Cathy Maxwell favorites, but a good read!

Regency romance - Leah Carrollton was the leading deb during her season. Her dream lover, Devon Marshall, Viscount Huxhold, comes upon her when his horse throws a shoe. When she runs away, she trips, & gives birth. He supports her all through it, & offers to marry her & raise the babe. They marry, then find true love.

This is my favorite book of all time. It makes you cry. The plot was just great. Love the book.

To most eyes Leah Carrollton might appear the dutiful debutante, but it takes Devon Marshall less than a minute to feel the enormous pull of a kindred, rebellious soul. At their first meeting, Devon and Leah are about to acknowledge the amazing connection between them when her brother steps in and clarifies their identities. As members of the rival Carrollton and Marshall families, the two can never mix. However, Devon has never met a woman he couldn't seduce, and a bet--with a bit of bravado mixed in--leads him straight to Leah and a scandal that turns the ton upside down.
