Book Description:

A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear.

Sara's ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation -- a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county's sole female detective, Lena Adams -- the first victim's sister -- want to serve her own justice.

But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath .. or mean her death.

I had never read this author before but got this book in a box of books trade because the story sounded interesting..It ended up being beyond interesting it was fantastic!

The story is suspensful and the main characters well developed. I felt like I could really connect to them and what was going on in the book. It's a definite must read for thriller fans.

The first in the Grant County series. After reading this and her follow up books, Karin Slaughter is now my all-time favorite author! Her stories are incredible! I read one her her books in 2 days! That's amazing for me since it usually takes me about a week or more to read a novel! I recommend her books to everyone but I also recommend that you read them in order starting with this one.

This was my first Karin Slaughter book, and apparently the first Grant County book is a great place to start. Slaughter does not shy away from violence or grisly descriptions, but unlike many of her male counterparts her female characters are well-developed and realistic.

The only part of this book that was a little weak was the ending; I thought the revelation of who-dunnit came a bit too early. Other than that small complaint this is a near perfect thriller.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Grant County series, because there are clearly some storylines involving this book's main characters that could be continued.

Definitely creepy - but a first rate thriller. Set in a small Georgia college town, it introduces Sara Linton (pediatrician and coroner) - her ex-husband (chief of police) - and a serial killer who takes them for a harrowing ride. Truly a "page turner"...kept me up until I finished it!

Excellent kick off for the Grant County, Georgia series of books with Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver. Great crime/procedural novel with outstanding characterizations and a strong plot. Convincing start to a gripping series of books.

This book has several main characters. Jeffrey Tolliver, chief of police of Heartsdale, Georgia, investigages the murder taking place in his small town. His ex-wife, Sara Linton, is a pediatrician and the coroner. They are both likable and the book slowly gives you the history of their relationship.
Women in Heartsdale are showing up, if not dead, then nearly dead. The storyline is logical and easy to follow. I did find myself picking it up to continue (in other words, it wasn't a book I put down and forgot about). I enjoyed it even though this wasn't the most suspenseful book I've read. Gave it three and 1/2 stars.

I thought Blindsighted was just OK. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and I guessed early on who the killer was. It definitely had its suspenseful moments, but sometimes I found of the description of the violence a little too graphic.

This was my frist Karin Slaughter book. I enjoyed everything about it. The story was fast paced, exciting, and the characters were believable. I did figure out who the bad guy was about 1/2 way through, but that did not stop me from reading till the end.

Sara Linton and Chief Jeffrey Tolliver make a good couple and I can't wait to see if they are paired together in other books.

A quick read, and one that keeps you thinking about it when you're not reading. What more can you say, a pretty good book

Great read! If you like Harlan Coben, Lisa Gardner, etc you will enjoy Karin Slaughter. I read this book in 2 nights, I had to force myself to put it down. So glad to have found another great suspense writer.

This is the second Karin Slaughter novel I've read - and the first one she wrote. I'm a fan - her writing isn't as in depth as Patricia Cromwell, but it has a fast paced rhythmn to it that keeps me reading. I haven't decided yet if it is awesome that I figure out the bad guy by the middle of the book and keep reading to make sure I'm right or if I'd rather be taken off balance at the end because the clues completely misled me and I have to reread parts searching for where I got off track. At any rate I enjoy her books and find them to be a great "fast food" read with some nutritional value. This one was no exception to that.

This is the first in a new series of books with an interesting set of characters set in Georgia. This is the last book that I have read in the series--having read all the others first. Because I had read the later books first, I knew a lot of what would happen in this book, but it was still good and suspenseful. This was not my favorite in the series, however it was still above average. I love Slaughter's character development, but I sometimes skim parts because I find her descriptions to be a bit long winded at times. She is definitely my new writer of choice for mysteries/thrillers with one interesting imagination! I can't put her books down when I get one in my hand. This one was no exception.
