This book is like the third one, the pants are not mentioned as much anymore. The girls are placed into more adult situations such as deciding when to do "it", and finding out more about themselves as they go through college and who they really are.

The fourth and possibly the best in the series. The Septembers are growing up now... some might even say grown. They are living their lives separately while trying desperately to remember how to stay together still. And once more, the pants know just what has to happen to seal the friendship for the future.

In comparison to her other books, this one disapointed. The characters that always played off of eachother so well in the previous books hardly spent any time together in this book and the connection just was not there as it was in the others.

I was really upset about this one. Brashares has lost her touch.

FOREVER IN BLUE is truly a bittersweet book! It has a truly amazing story but I'm sad that this is the final book in the SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS series. I never wanted this series to end! It is a remarkable ending to such a great series, though!

Lena: She is afraid that when she finally forgets about Kostos he will reappear. At her college she is taking a summer painting class and maybe she will meet someone new there.

Carmen: Shy Carmen, who thinks that she is invisible to the rest of the college students, finally makes a friend. She and her new friend have a summer that no one would suspect.

Bridget: She goes on an archaeological dig in Turkey and meets someone that she can't have. But what about Erik, who is still in love with her???

Tibby: Tibby and Brian have a few rough spots in their relationship. Will they be able to handle it? Or will it mean the end of their relationship?

As I'm sure you can tell there is never a dull moment while reading this book. There is always something going on with everyone. There is a major twist in the end of the book that I never saw coming. You will have to be the judge on whether it's a good twist or not, but I thought that it was well put and really tied in to the story.

Just as a warning, though, if you have not read the first three books in this amazing series (THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS, THE SECOND SUMMER OF THE SISTERHOOD, GIRLS IN PANTS) do not read this book until you have read the others. I wouldn't want you to ruin a perfectly good, well-written book!

The ending of FOREVER IN BLUE is bittersweet and excellent. It's realistic, touching, and satisfying, all at once. All the years we've loved these four girls, here is one last time to see them mature and learn how powerful their bond with one another is. It's a bond that can outlast anything, even time and distance, and that is what makes this series so special.

I really disliked Carmen in this book because of the way she let herself be treated, but it looks like she finally figured things out in the end. They all went through a lot of bad times in this book (although perhaps not as bad as before) and the ending leaves things open for hope for each of them - not perfect but with the chance for happiness.

This was a good conclusion to the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants books. It follows the girls on the summer after their first year of college. Really, it was a coming of age book. I enjoyed it.

an excellent read, though a bit too mature for preteens

I did not like this book at all. I was desperately waiting to read this one, and when I finally got my hands on a library copy, I read through the first three at lightening speed to catch up again, and jumped right into this one. What a letdown. All three books before this were great, and I find this one the worst of them all. I didn't care for the way it ended, although I suppose that it is a fitting ending when you consider all that's happened in each of the books. Bridget, who is the most entertaining character IMO, got the short straw in this book, as she does in every book, but this one in particular. She's in Turkey, being adventurous as usual, and the author lets her fall in love with an older man, and then doesn't let it go anywhere. She starts to lead it somewhere, and then just drops it off short. The whole thing was totally unnecessary, considering all that Bee and Eric had been through before in the first three books. I never really cared for the character Carmen in any of the books too much, and I didn't in this book either. She did grow up and learn so many things about herself in this book, so it was hard to despise her as much as I would've liked ;o) Lena, well she's still the same Lena. This is the only character that didn't come up short during the whole series. In the first book, she falls for Kostos. He's in all four books, but makes his most important appearance in Forever In Blue, and Ann Brashares tied up Lena's story very well. I am quite impressed, considering how the other characters turned out. Tibby's best friend Brian, has fallen head over heels for her, and she doesn't notice, at all. So she drags him along, unknowingly he's in love with her, and treats him like a piece of you know what in front of these "friends" of hers so she can look cool. It was really fustrating reading through Tibby's passages because I just wanted to shake her and say 'what are you doing! why are you being so mean to your best friend!'. IF she went throughout the whole book without finding out I think that could've possibly been an even worse ending. Just my .02 cents!

Great ending to a great series! This was not my favorite book in the series because it left a lot up in the air, but still a all around good book about the girls moving on from the traveling pants.

I just love the series. If you value friendships, and are up for a little romance you will like it too.It is such a great feel good summer read. Four very different teenage girls - friends since childhood, spend their summer apart but stay connected through a common bond by sharing a pair of jeans that fits all of them. Their adventures, heartaches and joys are shared in a ritual jean swapping.
