#3 in the immortal series. When Steven and Jack get ready for action, the reader's heart starts racing, just like when Coffin Ed and Gravedigger when decide there was nothing left do but fight the bad guys in a Chester Himes novel. Also, O'Brian has an amazing narrative gift, the story just moves effortlessly, like few other writers can pull off. Plus, there is the travel aspect: in this one our two heroes - not Rocky and Bullwinkle - visit India.
