Book Description:
An astonishing discovery is made in the South Pacific, 1,000 feet below the surface of the water. A spaceship has been found resting on the ocean floor -- a spaceship at least 300 years old.

Has it come from an alien culture? From a different universe?

Four scientists -- an astrophysicist, a biologist, a mathematician, and a psychologist -- rush to the scene, and descend together into the depths of the sea to search for answers. What they find there only raises more -- and increasingly ominous -- questions.

Ingenious and suspenseful, Sphere is Michael Crichton at the top of his form.

Michael Crichton's bestselling novels include Airframe, The Lost World, Jurassic Park, and Disclosure. He is also the creator of the television series ER.

Edward Asner won five Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Lou Grant -- first on The Mary Tyler. Moore Show and then on Lou Grant.

The ability to imagine is the greatest attribute of intelligence!

This story is built around an incredible discovery; in the middle of the South Pacific, resting almost buried on the ocean floor, is a spacecraft of unknown origin. A team of experts from various fields are gathered to investigate.......

Let me spin the adjective wheel --- Excellent! Awsome listen!

I've read the book, seen the movie, and now I've listened to the audio. The audio has been by far the most enjoyable. This is a great little audio (3 hours), but if you can release yourself from the grasp of reality, and let yourself go, you'll embark on a wonderful adventure. This little audio has "Special Effects", you hear the air in the diving suits, the bubbles floating to the surface, the keys on a terminal. Ed Asner does an outstanding job! He is not alone, You get to experience a "third person" perspective throughout the audio.

As most of you know - from reading my other reviews - I'm a commuter, and I found myself sitting in the parking garage waiting for the tape to finish before going in to work (not recommended)!

Some of the reviews I have seen state that this novel doesn't match up to Crighton's previous ones - well, I don't judge the merit of a book based soley on previous offerings, I judge it on its own merit!

I liked this book!

I think you will too!
