A two part novel. In part one, you are introduced to Laine Tavish, known to the folks in Angel's Gap, Maryland, as the proprietor of Remember When, an antique treasures and gift shop. They have no idea she used to be Elaine O'Hara, daughter of the notorious con man Big Jack O'hara. But Laine's past has just caught up with her. Her long lost uncle has visited her shop, leaving a cryptic warning before dying in the street, run down by a car. Soon afterward, Laine's home is ransacked. Now it's up to her and an enigmatic stranger named Max Gannon, to find out who's chasing her, and why. The answer lies in a hidden fortune that will change Laine's life.
In Part Two, Detective Eve Dallas is on the case in New York City in 2059. The treasure that Laine and Max sought has never been fully recovered. And now someone else is pursuing the missing part...someone who's willing to kill for it.

AS usual J.D. Robb is a terrific FAST read!!! BUT!!,the kicker is--the first ( and probably the best ) part is written by Nora Roberts..
J.D ( a psuedonim)..Together it is one of her/their best...Jim Cole

Really great! You get two books in one. I'm a big fan of Eve Dallas and the women in the first part has the making of a new series.
Really neat, Nora Roberts does first part, Eve shows up in last part by J D Robb... ties together!!
In part I, Lavine Tavish runs an antique shop in Angel's Gap, Maryland. She has no idea that she used to be Elaine O'Hara, daughtere to the notorious con man, Big Jack O'Hara. Her past just caught up with her when a long lost uncle shows up and leave a cryptic message before being rtun down by a car. Now it's up to her and an enigmatic stranger, Max Gannon, to find out who is responsible and find a hidden fortune that will change Laine's life. Part 2, jump ahead to New York in 2059. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is on the case. The entire treasure has not been found and someone is still looking and willing to kill for it.
This is a great read. Keeps you guessing until the end. Would reccomend.
