Book Description:
Sex isn'’t illegal in Paradise, Massachusetts, but when certain acts exceed the bounds of decency, it’s up to Police Chief Jesse Stone to step in. For openers, he’'s called to the junior high school to check out reports of improper conduct by the school’'s principal. Betsy Ingersoll claims she was protecting her student's’ modesty when she inspected the girls'’ underwear before the school dance. Jesse would like nothing more than to see Ingersoll punished, but her high-powered attorney husband stands in the way.

Then one of the girls confides that her parents have swinging parties, while she and her little brother hide upstairs. Jesse figures an investigation is in order and sends Suitcase Simpson to snoop around.

Meanwhile, the women of Paradise are faced with a threat to their security with the emergence of a troubled voyeur who calls himself “the Night Hawk.” At first, he'’s content to peer through windows, but then he starts to force his victims to strip at gunpoint, photographing them at their most vulnerable. And according to the notes he'’s sending Jesse, he'’s not going to stop there. Jesse senses the cases are connected, but can he catch the Night Hawk before someone gets killed?

Jesse Stone keeps reminding everyone "I am the Chief of Police" as he deals with a sensitive teenager, a peeping Tom, a club of swingers, and as always, Jenn. You'll race right through this Parker book and enjoy every page. I love Robert Parker!

Jesse Stone, Chief of Police in Paradise Mass, has his hands full with this one. For starters, High school principal Betsy Ingersol is inspecting the panties of some of her female students. Stone would like to see this principal in court, but her husband is the managing partner of a major law firm. Probably won't happen.
A young teenage girl comes into his office. The poor kid is all upset because her parents are members of a "swingers" club and she wants Jesse to do something about it. Of course, he is not to let on that she had this discussion with Jesse.
Then Jesse is dealing with a peeping tom. The unsuspecting housewives are held at gunpoint and ordered to take of their clothes while he takes pictures with his digital camera. He looks but doesn't touch.
Jesse is still struggling with the bottle
Jenn is off to New York City with her (male) producer. Will she stay in the big city, or will she be back?
Sunny also makes a brief appearance.
Are are all these scenarios related? Does Jesse take care of all the bad guys?
A very quick and humorous read. Jesse Stone fans will not be disappointed.

More of RBP's cookie-cutter formula.
