I enjoyed this book, but I don't think I'll be reading any more in the series. It was just a little too lightweight for me. The premise of the book, that the housekeeper solves the mysteries and leads her employer in the right direction, just doesn't come off as believable enough. It bothered me and detracted from my enjoyment of the book, which was otherwise well-written.
Loved this first of the series. Delightful characters. Will read more. Very cozy.
This is a fun series. Mrs. Jeffries and her gang of servants save the day.

Enjoyable cozzie set in Victorian times.
She keeps house for Inspector Witherspoon...and keeps him on his toes. Everyone's awed by his Scotland Yard successes--but they don't know about his secret weapon. No matter how messy the murder or how dirty the deed, Mrs. Jeffries' polished detection skills are up to the task...proving that behind every great man there's a woman--and that a crime-solver's work is never done.
An enjoyable, first title in the series. Family rated.
Here's the book to introduce you to a good mystery series. Set in 18oos. Inspector Witherspoon is kind but not very capable. His crew of servants want to keep their happy home so they do all the sleuthing and make the Inspector think he's done it. Wonderful cast of characters that soon become old friends.
