This is one of the best Benni Harper mysteries! Benni's job as curator of a folk-art museum expands to include planning a "prom" at a retirement home. All seems to go well until an old boyfriend shows up and then his uncle and an elderly friend are found dead in one of the apartments! Then Benni's present-day interest, Gabe, a temporary police chief, wants her in his life but out of his murder cases! As usual, she "helps" by getting in his way quite often!! This is one you won't want to put down until you finish it!!

I love all of Earlene's books. This one is no different! She writes a good mystery without an obvious ending. She remindes me of Grafton's alphabet books.

A SUPERB series that takes place in southern CA and tells the story of Benni Harper, each book being named for a quilt pattern.
