Great story! Finally, a wedding!
Another excellent volume in the China Bayles mystery series!
From Library Journal
"China Bayles is a week away from marrying her beloved fianc?, the interim police chief of Pecan Springs. However, the murder of Edgar Coleman puts a damper on her plans, so China decides to help her husband-to-be solve the crime. Edgar, who was known for his shady deals and philandering ways, had many enemies, so China and her friend Ruby decide to investigate, and what they turn up adds more suspects to the list and more possibilities that China will miss her honeymoon. Can Ruby and China solve the murder? Will China still get married? Lavender Lies is a simple but fun story with little gore and lots of plot twists that will keep readers guessing until the very end. Albert does a fine job reading her own work, a tape that should find a home in most mystery collections.

I really enjoy cozy mysteries. I especially am enjoying this series about China Bayles, who owns a herb shop. I get to learn some interesting things about herbs.
The 8th book in Wittig Albert's China Bayles mystery series. A fun mystery read complemented by lots of fun information on herbs!
There are a lot of references to herbs and flowers. Eighth book of a series. Great mystery, romance and friendship. NOT sexually explicit - nice book.
China Bayles is about to get married, but that has to wait while her finance conducts a murder investigation. Most of the residents of Pecan Springs think it is good riddance to the victim. Not well liked the real estate agent doesn't have many friends. China learns he was conducting several affairs and also trying to blackmail City Council members. If China can't find the killer soon she can forget about a honeymoon.

"Good riddance," is the response of every Pecan Springs resident to the murder of local real estate shark Edgar Coleman. It doesn't take long for China to learn that Coleman was having numerous affairs-and was blackmailing City Council members for their votes on a bad land development deal. With her fiance immersed in the murder investigation-and the suspect list growing longer by the minute-China can forget about a honeymoon, unless she can find the killer...

I LOVE this series. I have read them out of order, but have enjoyed each one I have read. I can't wait to finish them all. A quick read but very enjoyable.
