First in the series about Augusta Goodnight, an angel sent to help people in difficult situations. Mary George Murphy's beloved Aunt Caroline has just died as the result of a fall down the attic stairs. But was she pushed? Mary George needs to find out, and learn which of her aunt's "friends" really were friends, and which ones wanted to harm her.

I really liked this book. I did expect the story to be told from the guardian angel's perspective, but it wasn't. I think that it is really clever to have a recurring character that moves the story, but doesn't tell it. Overall, I really liked Augusta and I look forward to reading more of this series. :)

Cute cozy mystery. This is a good one, left me gussing until the very last few pages of the book.

Light, bouncy prose, small-town Southern perspective and characters, and a most fetching angel make this first volume in a new series a real charmer."---Library Journal review
