This fabulous story has it all -- murder, love, and jealousy and a family with lots of secrets. Set on the Central California Coast, this is the seventh Benni Harper story. I loved it!

Stephanie S. (Sam announces that his girlfriend is pregnant. She is the granddaughter of one of the Brown sisters. At the announcement party, a man is shot and killed. What seems as a simple murder gets murky and dangerous for Benni who has been drawn into the investigation by a sheriff's deputy, Hud. The Brown family is a big name in her country and it won't be easy to get to the truth and even if they do, be able to do anything about it. Great book, as always.
The patchwork quilts provide the quiding for Earlene Fowler's Benni Harper series and becomes the perfect emblem for a universal sisterhood where women's hearts are torn and tested and unite to create a story of complex patterns.
I loved this book. The characters continue to develop as the books progress. It is a delight.
