Book Description:
Tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is the Hatteras West Inn and Lighthouse. Innkeeper Alex Winston watches over the cozy getaway, and guests count on him to take care of everything from basic repairs to breakfast. But he also has to take care of the occasional murder case, too.

At the quirky Hatteras West Inn, it's hard to predict what will happen next. But innkeeper Alex Winston has to try. One of his guests has been found dead at the top of the lighthouse. Apparently, the climb killed him...or was it something else? That's just the beginning of a series of "accidents" that plague the quaint retreat. And Alex must act fast to solve the mystery and capture the culprit before the next guest checks out...

Cute cozy. A lighthouse in the mountains? That's the Inn that Alex runs... one of his ancestors fell in love with a lighthouse and built one when he got back home. Too bad the inn is being plagued by problems, including a dead body in the lighthouse.

I didn't read it, but my wife (an English professor who teaches writing) reports that the writing is often clumsy enough to take her out of the story wondering why the author chose those awkward words...

I actually got this book for my meme who is an avid reader and loves lighthouses...she finished it in a day and sent it back to me. I LOVED IT!! It was so addictive, I HAD to finish it by the second night! I ordered her two more...good thing one of them went to her house and one came here!! :)

Most new books in a series can be a bit difficult to get all the characters and plot lines in place. This was easier than most I have read, I felt like I really cared what happened to the main character, and it was quite full of action. Great, quick read!

I much prefer his candlemaking series, but this wasn't too bad.

Alex Winston is desperately trying to hold on to the family lighthouse named Hatteras West which is interestingly located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not your typical location for a lighthouse, but one that attracts a wide variety of people. That is until one guest is found dead at the top of the lighthouse with an ice pick in the back and another looks to have been pushed off of Bear Rocks. It is now up to Alex to find the killer, keep the boiler running on the old Inn and have the beds made before the next guest checks in. Just your typical day as an Innkeeper.

Fun start to the lighthouse series by Tim Meyers. Look forward to seeing the unique characters again that make up the background in this book. Amazon Review: http://tinyurl.com/2s2533
