This was a good read. It was a little slow in the coming of the story. Worth reading at least once.
Continues the sage of Touch of the Wolf and Once a Wolf. Deep in the hills of Napa Valley, Johanna Schell has founded a sancturary for those who know the pain of being "different", desperate, frightened people who souls are lost to grief...for lonely, tortured men like Quentin Foster.
Frightening spells of amnesia have plagued Quentin for years and Johnna wants only to ease his pain and get him past his delusional claim to werewolf blood. But under hypnosis, will she find a man or a beast and will she be able to trust either one.
This book contains a look at the early use of hypnosis in treating mental illnesses along with tension, passion and betrayal.

I found this book to be abit on the dry side abd slow. Now as enjoyable as her other books.

A VERY GOOD READ,I LIKE HER BOOKS A LOT.
Amid thelush vineyards and majestic hills of Napa Valley, hypnotist Johanna Schell has founded DerHaven - a sanctuary for those who know the pain of being "different". For desperate, frightened people whose souls are lost to grief. For lonely tortured souls like Quentin Forster..

Near her family's vineyards in Napa Valley, Dr. Johanna Schell provides a haven for those plagued with mental anguish. Suffering Quentin Forster stumbles into Johanna's sanctuary, but suffers from amnesia with some glimpses of his past. Quentin knows he is on the run, but why and from whom remains blank. She offers the tormented yet compassionate man refuge and he grasps at her overture.
Joanna and Quentin begin to fall in love even as she tries to help him with whatever hidden tortures wrack his mind. However, his past arrives in her shelter causing perilous havoc for everyone there and under her hypnotic spell THE SECRET OF THE WOLF is released. If Johanna and Quentin somehow survive his past, can two extraordinary individuals cross specie lines find a lifetime of happiness even as love flows freely between them?
The third Susan Krinard werewolf romance (see TOUCH OF THE WOLF and ONCE A WOLF) is an exciting supernatural tale that will haunt readers long after the novel is done. The story line is loaded with plenty of otherworldly action that will thrill horror fans yet finds room for a strong ardent relationship between Johanna and Quentin. Ms. Krinard has another howling success that will send her back to her normal spot on the bestseller lists.
