Great read. Good mystery and I love the characters! I just found this series and this is the first one I read -- I really enjoyed it.

Simple and engrossing to read, the Mrs. Jeffries mysteries are fun! In this one a dead vicar no one can identify plus another corpse no one expected gives Inspector Witherspoon trouble and his staff of servants (who love him very much and know which side their bread is buttered on) get busy to solve it while making it look like the Inspector is solving it.

just as good as the last Mrs. Jeffries. Enjoyable in every way.

I loved this book. I am one of those people that always reads the end (I know it's a bad habit, but I can't help myself). What I like about the Mrs Jefferies books is that even if I read the end, I still want to read the book to see how they figured it out. This one in particular was very memorable. How are they going to figure this out? I kept asking-- but of course they did.

I enjoy cozy mysteries, and Mrs. Jeffries fits the bill. She solves mysteries mainly by brainpower, but also by using her staff to do a lot of running around and research. But her dear inspector gets all the credit for his "method" of solving the mysteries! He is a sweet gentleman, but somehow never suspects that his housekeeper is putting the solution into his head!
