In this story Lara travels to Thailand to look for a missing antiques dealer while she is also taking a vacation and spending time with her partner's daughter Jennifer. Lara has been give some newspaper clipping bout a sensational murder that happened in Bangkok 50 years ago as well as a handful of amulets. As Lara tries to find the missing man she gets drawn into the affairs of a rich and powerful family whose own history has some dark secrets. There are several murders and some interesting history of Thailand before Lara takes steps to avenge the death of Jennifer's fiance. Anther goodie.

I really enjoy Lyn Hamilton's books but this was an especially interesting story. Very well done.

The premise of ahowing parallels to past good thought but I thought the use of it here was only to fill space. overall still good read
