When Dora Conroy, a Philadelphia antiques dealer, purchases a curious selection of auction items - objects she judges to be humorous novelties, she unknowingly becomes the deadly focus of an international smuggler. When robberies and death surround her merchandise, Dora seeks help from her intriguing upstairs tenant, former cop Jed Skimmerhorn. They discover a shadowy path leading across the continent to the smuggler, a man who will stop at nothing to recover his hidden riches. Like the treasures he craves, Dora and Jed find they are susceptible to his crushing grasp.
Wonderful book! Highly engaging, completely engrossing!! Great balance of romance and suspense, murder and intrigue! Couldn't put it down! Turned to a prune reading it in the tub, as I didnt want to stop reading it long enough to get out of the bath! lol. :)

This was a great example of Nora Roberts' easy to read, yet strangely hard to put down books. It's about a young woman who operates an antiques shop, and some intrigue after picking up some oddities at an auction, then the romance with her sort-of-ex-cop neighbor. A very good read, thoroughly enjoyable.

Nora Roberts-YUM! This takes place in the intriguing world of antiques dealing, where an independent woman discovers the price of breathless desire and the schemes of an obsessed killer.
