Book Description:
Rupert Carsington, fourth son of the Earl of Hargate, is his aristocratic family's favorite disaster. He is irresistibly handsome, shockingly masculine, and irretrievably reckless, and wherever he goes, trouble follows. Still Rupert's never met an entanglement - emotional or otherwise - he couldn't escape. Until now.

Now he's in Egypt, stranded in the depths of Cairo's most infamous prison, and his only way out is to accept a beautiful widow's dangerous proposal. Scholar Daphne Pembroke wants him to rescue her brother, who's been kidnapped by a rival seeking a fabled treasure. Their partnership is strictly business: She'll provide the brains, he the brawn. Simple enough, in theory.

Blame it on the sun or the blazing desert heat, but as tensions flare and inhibitions melt, the most disciplined of women and the most reckless of men are about to clash in the most impossibly irresistible way.

The main characters kept my interest throughout the book and the backdrop of Egypt with its history was intriguing. I didn't know this was part of a series. I can't wait to read the others!

Really good book. Regency historical in an unusual setting (Egypt). Steamy romance, humorous.

I liked the mongoose. Who puts a mongoose in their book? I also liked the hero. His laid back approach was most amusing

This is a fun and interesting romance book. I am reading the three in this trilogy in reverse order and this is my favorite! Fun and interesting male roles, lots of Egyptian lore and descriptions, lots of exciting scenes. The females are by turns funny, smart and colorful. The males handsome, ruthless, tender and, again, funny. I loved this book.

Beautifully written, engaging characters. More suspense than I care for but very well done.

"Lord of Scoundrels" is one of if not the best in this genre. So like most I've bought everything with Loretta Chase's name on it. Sadly, Mr. Impossible was a disappointment. I couldn't even finish the book.:(
