This is book 2 in the Janie series. I loved book 1 but thought the series went downhill as it progressed.

I am 40 and I loved this book. I read it on vacation in one day because I couldn't put it down. I now have requested the next in this series and more Caroline B Cooney books. Great book and very easy to follow since it is for teens. I enjoyed it.

Young adult. Companion to The Face on the Milk Carton. Good stand alone book. Janie Johnson is the 16 year old only child of two loving parents. She is also 15 year old Jennie Spring, kidnapped from a loving family of seven when she was 3 and given to the Johnsons as their granddaughter. With the kidnapping revealed Janie struggles with her identity and the claims of two families. Who is she really and how can her two families ever both be happy?

I enjoyed this examination of what happens when a young woman sees her own face on a milk carton and has to discover which person she really is.

Very good adolescent fiction. On top Long Island, NY school reading lists.
