Donna E. (Sid Fleischman handles his children's stories with panache, humor and understanding. In this historical novel he pairs that enigmatic early California banditto Juaquin Murieta with a very determined young girl.
My 7 year-old son loved this book as a read-aloud. Lots of action and interesting dialog. Old-west kind of theme. Quick read.
