My children love this series. Action, adventure, honor, and integrity. What a great read.

The second book in the Redwall series, Moosflower is just as good as the first. Going back to the days of the famed Martin the Warrior, when the evil wildcat queen, Tsarmina, held Mossflower Woods in her sway, this is the tale of how Martin helped to free the land and build Redwall Abbey. It is also the story of how he got his legendary sword.

I finished this "second" book in the Redwall series this afternoon. This is technically a prequel to the first story, telling the story of Martin the Warrior and his quest to Salamandastron. Meahwhile the woodlanders back home are busy trying to free Mossflower woods from the evil tyranny of Tsarmina the wildcat. This book is just as endearing as the first book in the series, and it's fun to read about the ancestors of the crew we met in Redwall. There's not too much else to say about this book; it's really quite similar to the first in terms of style, and to some extent, plot, but it's a fun read for the lazy summer before classes start.

Choose any Brian Jacques book and have a wonderful read! These books are for children (middle-school age), but are great for adults too. If your kids are reading them, have a look yourself. You won't be disappointed. They're beautifully written, have exciting plots and a depth of meaning that's for all ages. A fabulous alternative to Harry Potter. Why a movie has never been made of any of these, I don't know.

The second book in this series, but actually the prequel to book one, the story of Martin. I highly recommend this book for teens and adults alike. You can't help but be swept up into this very charming fantasy series and cheer heartily for Mossflower!
