Book Description:
After two years of bitter conflict with the hordes of invading Canim, Tavi of Calderon, now Captain of the First Aleran Legion, realizes that a peril far greater than the Canim exists-the mysterious threat that drove the savage Canim to flee their homeland. Now, Tavi must find a way to overcome the centuries-old animosities between Aleran and Cane if an alliance is to be forged against their mutual enemy. And he must lead his legion in defiance of the law, against friend and foe--or no one will have a chance of survival . . .

I really love this series of stories, which I also enticed my teenage son to read. He told me MOTHER, he's stolen his material from video games. Well, I don't play video games, but I enjoy the action and details this wonderful planet of supernatural beings posses.

If you've read the earlier Codex Alera books, then you're likely very fond of Tavi and his friends. I think that this may be the best one yet. You get a fuller sense of his story and that of his father.

If you are looking for a story full of adventure, friendship, loyalty and intrigue - this book will not disappoint!

I am becoming a fan of this series more and more. So far, this is my favorite book in the Codex Alera series. Although it took me a while to get into it, the last half of the book is griping.

I'm at the point in the series where I feel like I "know" the characters as real people and actually care what happens to them. With "Captain's Fury", major turning points are made not only with the characters, but also with the relationships between them. I would like to give examples, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone.

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Princeps' Fury.
