Vlad continues to intrigue me. In this book, he & his wife Cawti have a difference of opinion about the freedom group with which she has become involved. Vlad struggles with figuring out just what is his duty, and his honor. Not quite as interesting to me as the first two books, but certainly well worth reading.
I'd always known they were. Teckla were lazy, stupid, cowardly peasants. Revolting. Oldjoke. But now they were revolting against the empire. New Joke.
And a Jheregcrimeloard, feeling the pinch.was popping the rebels. No joke.
But the real joke? I was protecting them. Me Lord Vial Taltos-loyingal grandson, loving husband, Jhereg,Sorcerer/Assinsin. Everything the abble hated. Not that I craved wet nursinbg a mob of slogan slobbering doomed raddical loonies, all of whom wanted me dead. Particularly since my royal peers, all of the House Jhereg, wanted me dead...
