In this first novel in the Sharon McCone series, the female PI investigates a string of arson and vandalism incidents in which one of the clients of the legal coop where McCone works, an antique dealer, has been a victim. Things get dangerous when that client is murdered. As in later books in this series, the plot hinges on a social issue. Here McCone suspects rich real estate agents are conspiring to drive out small business owners so that chichi shops and condos can gentrify the Real Folks out.

This book is the first Sharon McCone mystery. Excellent! It made a Muller fan out of me. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
