Book Description:
The timeless tale continues... The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now bestselling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett. As the classic story, first told over half a century ago, moves forward, the greatest love affair in all fiction is reignited; amidst heartbreak and joy, the endless, consuming passion between Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler reaches its startling culmination. Rich with surprises at every turn and new emotional, breathtaking adventures, Scarlett satisfies our longing to reenter the world of Gone With the Wind, and like its predecessor, Scarlett will find an eternal place in our hearts.

Everyone told me not to bother with this book but I found it at the thrift store for a quarter and figured, what the heck. I completely loved it. It was Scarlett to a T. It had adventures and predicaments and Scarlett being Scarlett. Since I didn't expect much I didn't mind that Rhett isn't around in most of the book. Besides, when he is there, it's him to a T and he's wonderful. This book is about Scarlett growing up. I highly recommend it.

For anyone whoever read the first and original" Gone With The Wind" I am sure that they found this book a big disappointment as much as I did. The movie for this book was a joke too. I do not recommend it at all.

Wonderful sequel, very well researched and written. Alexandra Ripley was a good choice, her style compliments Margaret Mitchell's writing style nicely.

It's not Gone With the Wind, but it's a good read, and it ties up Scarlett and Rhett's relationship well.

If you've re-read GWTW a thousand times, you'd enjoy reading this one.

I'm not a big fan of this book, but I still feel compelled to read it after rereading Gone With the Wind, simply for the sake of completing the journey with Scarlett.

Gone with the wind did not deserve a sequel in this matter. Was extremely disappointed , as I am sure everyone was as well. We expected Margaret Mitchell, and friends, she is dead. A book as great as Gone with the Wind could never have a sequel that lives up to the original. 2-3 stars. A nice try, but, not really lived up to the expectations of all the Gone With the Wind fans.

It was a good book but I wasn't as impressed like I was with the original. Somehow it didn't feel right reading the sequel written by a different writer. Don't get me wrong because it still is a well written book and should still be enjoyed.

Scarlett is the sequel to Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind. The author created a new story of Scarlett’s life after Rhett walked out.

Scarlett is still thinking about it "tomorrow". Does she get Rhett back? Long read but a good read

Come back to Tara... to Scarlett and Rhett... and to the greatest love story in all fiction. This is the book whose initial publication was an instant sensation: selling out immediately, setting new records, and enthralling readers all over the world. This is the book everyone wants to read, savor, and enjoy.

My husband bought this book for me as a Christmas gift when it first came out. I did enjoy it very much but found some of the situations a bit far fetched. Even so a good read.

I never read gone with the wind but have read this one many times. Scarlett is in true form in this book. her antics that she pulls to get her man. it also clues you into stuff that the last book and movie left out. All southern women should read thius book.
