This is a good police mystery, a good summer beach vacation novel.

The first three quarters of the book was fast paced and really fun...the final quarter dragged on too long.

I haven't read this book, but my friend Chris (who gave it to me to put up onto the site) really enjoyed the book: he says he especially likes the main character and the humor/wit in the book. It's not a "funny book" he says, but the main character is a sarcastic guy.

The best DeMille I've read yet. Very funny yet serious and that's hard to do. Love his writing style and you will too.

NYPD detective John Corey is supposed to be recovering on his uncle's Long Island estate when the local sheriff asks him to help with a murder investigation, where nothing is as it appears.

One of my favorites.

Very good book. I loved The Gold Coast and The Gate House, and this was a very good book too.

Demille is one of the best and this book is no exception!

Slow moving. I had a hard time staying with the book. Lots of history. Not my type of read.

The book is quite good though Mr. Macho the hero is a bit too into his self! Good mystery until the very end.
