Book Description:
The Women's Murder Club pits four San Francisco women professionals against a serial killer who's stalking and murdering newlyweds in bestselling author James Patterson's newest thriller. Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector who's just gotten some very bad news. She deals with it by immersing herself in her newest case and soliciting the personal as well as professional support of her closest friend, who happens to be the city's medical examiner. The two women, along with an ambitious and sympathetic reporter and an assistant DA, form an unlikely alliance, pooling their information and bypassing the chain of command in an engaging, suspenseful story whose gruesome setup is vintage Patterson.
"What is the worst thing anyone has ever done?" the killer muses to himself early in the narrative. "Am I capable of doing it? Do I have what it takes?" Answering his own question, he embarks on a murderous spree that takes him from the bridal suite in a Nob Hill hotel to a honeymoon destination in the Napa Valley and thence to a wedding reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Dispatching his victims on the happiest day of their lives, he purposefully leaves enough clues for his distaff trackers to discover his identity and put him behind bars. But just when the women think they've got the case all wrapped up, the killer turns the tables on them in a bloody denouement that even the most discerning reader won't see coming.

Wow! I saw the TV movie when it came out, and hadn't planned on reading the book. However, I wanted to read all five of the Women's Murder Club series, so I decided to go ahead and read 1st To Die. It was wonderful! I read it in two days. Engrossing plot with lots of twists. Short chapters that keep you reading and reading, into the wee hours.

First to Die is the first book in his Women's Murder Club series.

I didn't even realize that this is going to be a tv series. But after reading this book, I can't wait to check out the tv show premiering Oct. 12th. This is much better than the made for tv movie, as often is the case with books. As soon as I was finished with it, after not being able to put it down and reading it in a day, I had to check if their were more. I am anxiously waiting the second novel. This was my first James Patterson book.

The beginning had me hooked. James Patterson did a great job developing the characters in this new series. They have a police officer, lawyer, coroner and reporter working together to solve a murder mystery. All are female and very likable and believable characters.

Lindsey Boxer is a homocide inspector for the San Francisco PD. A string of murders involving newlyweds springs up and Lindsey and three of her friends try to solve the murders on there own time. In addition to this Lindsey is fighting a potentially life threatening disease and is exploring the possibility of a loving relationship with her new partner. You will think you know who the killer is and then something comes up to make you focus your thoughts on somene else. Even when you think it is over, its not.

The plot is well thought out and explicit. The chapters are short and the story moves at a quick pace. If you enjoy a good mystery you will want to read this book.

This is the first of the Women's Murder Club books by James Patterson. The series is going to be made into a TV series this Fall. I can't wait to see it. It's a great series with strong women roles. The 1st book is very exciting and I read it in two days. Couldn't put it down!

This is my first time reading anything by James patterson and I really enjoyed it....the mystery, the characters, and the easy reading (short chapter) style. It was difficult to put down. I have heard they are making this book series a tv show for the Fall. Would definitely recommend.

Really really a good book! It's lighter reading than I'm used to, but I still really enjoyed it. Have read the second one too, and that one surprised me! Looking forward to #3.

This first in a series is certainly a page turner. It came highly recommeded to me by a friend. The action moves quickly and the book is a fast read. James Patterson knows how to grab the reader's attention from the first page. Some descriptions are rather graphic but not tedious. I plan to read the next one in the series, as soon as I can.

Excellent thriller. In particular, the chacters, their pains and pleasures are well done. Someone is killing newly weds, for no apparent reason. It takes the skills of each of the women, in the club, to put this together.

This story is filled with twists and turns and links crimes that seem random. This book was definitely a page turner and kept my interest to the end.
