Book Description:
Katie Wilkinson has found the perfect man at last-but one day, he disappears from her life, leaving behind only a diary for her to read.

The diary is written by a woman named Suzanne and is addressed to her new baby boy, Nicholas. In it she pours out her heart about the joy he has brought her. As Katie reads this moving story, she realizes that the man she's fallen in love with is Suzanne's husband, Nicholas' father. She reads on, filled with terror and hope as she struggles to understand what happened-and whether her new love can survive.

Written with Patterson's perfect pitch for emotion and suspense, this novel captures beautifully the joys of a new family. This is an unforgettable story, at once heartbreaking and full of hope.

Again, Patterson blows me away with his writing. This is a quick, easy read, but emotionally deep. Great book.

Okay, all of the reviews I have read on this have been from the ladies, so I guess there has to be a first for the guys. LOL I know I am not the ONLY guy that has read it. :) Anyway, this book is not for one with a soft heart; then again, maybe it is. This story is basically about four people, Suzanne, Nicholas, Matt, and last, but certainly not least, Katie. It is a love story, a story about what's important in life, and about how most of us tend to take the important things, or people, for granted, and concentrate on the things which are secondary. Before you know it, what you truly hold dear is gone before you know it. I won't tell you GUYS to grab a box of Kleenex when you read it, but let's just say you are dead if the story doesn't touch you. (Okay, grab the Kleenex, I won't tell) A wonderful story that makes me want to end up being more like Matt every day.

This book was an easy read and I cried from about the middle to the end. Heartwrenching, yet happy.

A little different for James Patterson, but I'd heard of this story and was looking for it for a long time. I'm glad I found it and read it. It was sad but happy too.

Different from most of Patterson's but written in his excellent style. You'll need a box of tissues for this one.

Very romantic and sweet book. Wasn't expecting it to end the way it did. I finished it in 1 day because I couldn't put it down.

One of the best books I have read. I really enjoyed this book. If you have read Sam's Letters to Jennifer, also by this author you will LOVE this book.

It'll bring you to tears. Surprisingly, this book is written by a man, from a woman's standpoint and very poingnant. I couldn't put it down until I'd read it all.

Very different from James Patterson's usual mystery novels, but this was very good; although you need a box of tissues handy when reading!

This book was one of the most heart-wrenching, touching books I have ever read. I gave it to my Mother to read and she called me at 3 in the morning crying, she had read it cover to cover unable to stop. I dare anyone man or woman to read it without having to reach for a tissue.

This book didn't draw me in. The characters were pretty boring. Reading this book was like watching a romance comedy you've seen many times before.

This may not be the worst book I've ever read, but it's a close second. The writing is poor (think Bridges of Madison County), the storyline is extremely contrived, and the characters are nearly as unbelievable as the situations they find themselves in. It's emotionally manipulative, and overly maudlin. I know there are many who loved this book, so it may appeal to fans of certain genres or authors.

This is the best book I have ever read in my life! I can't believe how much it made me cry, but well worth the tears. A very touching story that I just couldn't put down. Amazingly written. You get connected to all the characters and feel pain when they feel pain, feel happiness when they feel happieness and you truly get lost in this book.

This book was a great read. Like all of James Patterson's books it progressed quickly and kept me interested in the story. I had seen this movie on TV and loved the movie and loved the book even more. I would highly recommend this book. You really feel involved in the story. Great summer read.

This book is different from most of James Patterson's books. I was a little weary at first going into it seeing as there was no big murder, but I though the book was fabulous. It is now one of my favorite Patterson books.
